Wednesday Match Reports Round 4

SORRY IN ADVANCE V CENTREFOLD

Sorry in Advance had been on an impressive recent run, notching 29 and 25 goals in their past few games but faced one of the ultimate tests in the undefeated Centrefold this week. It was the latter who made it four from four wins as they overcame a gallant opponent to run out 33-14 winners. The game started off as a fast-paced, close affair before the heavyweights exerted their dominance and took control. Jason G was named played of the game by the umpires.

BIBS OUT FOR THE BOYS V GMD

Bibs out for the boys played out one of their best games to date, as they overcame GMD 24-13. The emerging side had a couple tough weeks against the top of the pack, and took that experience into this week’s match with a convincing performance at both ends of the court. GMD were in reasonable form coming into the match and put up a typically brave fight. Josh M was awarded best on court by the umpires for an eye-catching outing.

DROPPING BALLZ V BITTABANTER

Dropping Ballz came into the game with back-to-back wins and back-to-back hauls of 34 goals, so spectators were keen to see how they’d perform against reigning champions Bittabanter. It was the latter who extended their unbeaten run with a relentless 37-9 showing. The reigning champions were too classy at both ends of the court to make it four from four. Droppin have got the potential to mix it with the best and should regain some key personnel to return to form next week. Sam M was adjudged best on court by the umpires.

MEDIOCRE V PMS

Mediocre have been building after their introduction to the comp this season and put it all together this week to make it back-to-back wins. An impressive 28-16 result over PMS notched their highest goal tally to date. PMS had been on the end of some close scorelines coming into the game, so a turn of fortune could be around the corner. Kyle B was given player of the game honours by the umpires for a standout performance.

SUNFLOWERS V EASY BREEZY

Sunflowers got over the line last week in a thriller and managed to achieve the same this week with a solid 16-10 win over Easy Breezy to make it back-to-back wins. An impressive start to the season for last season’s surprise packet of the West division, making it three from four to kickstart this one. Easy Breezy battled bravely and have shown glimpses of their potential this season. Josh B was awarded player of the game by the umpires for an impressive showing for Easy Breezy.

UNDERWHELMINGLY AVERAGE V THE ODD BUNCH

Underwhelmingly Averaged bounced back from their tough loss last week to return to the winners’ list with an impressive 27-16 win over The Odd Bunch. The side made it three from four wins in a superb start to their campaign. In its last two victories, the side has registered 27 and 25 goals to show their prowess inside the goal circle when on song. The Odd Bunch also notched their highest tally of the season with 16, in positive signs. Hayden S was given player of the game honours for a stirring performance.

HARLEYS ANGELS V NAOMIS TEAM

Harley’s Angels were coming off powerful back-to-back wins, so spectators were keen to see how they’d perform, putting their mettle to the test against Naomi’s Team who have always asserted their dominance near the top of the ladder. It was the latter who were too classy on this occasion, running out 24-12 winners in a strong performance at both ends of the court. They’ll be hoping this result kickstarts a winning run after some tough outings out of the way. Cam L was awarded player of the game accolades by the umpires for an outstanding defensive performance.

UNATHLETICO MADRID V CHICANO U-TURN

Unathletico Madrid registered their first win of the season in convincing fashion, running out 12-5 winners over Chicano U-Turn. A dominant performance in front of the goals provided plenty of highlights for a side who will be hoping to carry this form into next week and beyond. Chicano have proved they have the ability to find the back of the net themselves and will be hoping a slight defensive focus will return them to form. Jack R was given player of the game honours for a fine performance.

YTB V THE SHARKS

After a tough loss in week 1, YTB haven’t put a foot wrong, registering their third win in succession following a 5-2 victory over the Sharks. The in-form side have been clinical on the defensive end, keeping two of their past opponents to two goals or less. The Sharks had been in some good goalscoring form coming into the match so will be hoping this recent result is a small blip on their otherwise impressive emergence. Luke M was adjudged best on court for his superb showing.

CHICKEN TIKKA MO SALAH V MANAGED ANGER

Chicken Tikka Mo Salah and Managed Anger played out an absolute goal-fest with 20 goals in total. After notching 11 goals last week, Chicken went one step further this time around, with a 12-8 win over Managed Anger. An open, free-flowing game provided the spectators plenty of highlights. It was also Managed Anger’s highest goal tally to date and they’ll be hoping this goalscoring form continues into next week if they can tighten up defensively. Faz K stood out and was awarded MOTM honours as a result.

generation xyz v worlds biggest

Generation XYZ stamped their authority as the only unbeaten team to date this season, with a thrilling 8-5 win over the impressive Worlds Biggest. The two heavyweights battled it out in what could very well be a finals preview. The classy dribbling and shooting was on full display from both sides, but it was the former who kept their form going with an important victory. Mio was given MOTM honours for a typically brilliant outing. 

peasants v kfc hernandez

Peasants were keen to bounce back from their tough meeting last week and did so with a powerful 8-2 victory over reliable unit KFC Hernandez. The former finalists were too strong at both ends of the court to register the impressive result. KFC were coming off a stellar performance and cleansheet last week and will be hoping this tough test gives them further experience as they look to return to form next week. Luke B was adjudged best on court by the referee for a classy showing.

cazz v xov

Cazz and XOV played out a thriller with just one goal separating the two sides. A see-sawing game eventually saw Cazz hold on for a 5-4 victory, to mark their second victory of the season. Both sides are now 2 wins and 2 losses from their 4 outings to date. Jack T was deemed player of the game by the referee for his standout performance.

 

 

ivory toast v wb boys

Ivory Toast and WB Boys played out a tight and intense thriller, with the final result reading 3-3. Both sides had been involved in some close results to date, so it was no surprise the spoils were shared between the two hardworking sides. Ivory Toast are still chasing those elusive three points this campaign but are building back to their best slowly, while WB are continuing to find their feet in their new comp. Aiden earned MOTM accolades for an eye-catching outing.
