Wednesday Netball Match Reports Round 2

Bittabanter v Mediocre

Welcome back to the competition Bittabanter, Mediocre is coming into tonight’s game from a win
last week, will the rest from the BYE work to your advantage or not. The first quarter saw Mediocre
put it to the returning premiers, quickly etching out a 2 goal lead and catching them on the back
foot. The second quarter saw both teams swap up positions and the speed of Mediocre was a real
challenge to Bittabanter, who were missing some key players, but it didn’t stop them from
persevering and getting the lead back, heading into the break with a last second goal lead. The third
quarter was a challenge for Mediocre as the shooters for Bittabanter finally got their eye in, and
they were able to stretch out their lead. Shaun was fantastic for Mediocre, he had a real impact on
the game and was awarded player of the match for his efforts. The last quarter saw good ball
movement by both teams, Bittabanter ultimately took the win but Mediocre are a team to watch
this season.

Cheeseballers v GMD

Both teams are on the back of a challenging week last week and will be keen to turn it around to
secure their first win tonight. Cheeseballers came out strong and were able to get a small lead in the
first quarter. GMD fought back in the second and their shooters were able to ensure that
Cheeseballers didn’t increase that lead. The third quarter was a master show by the newcomers, and
they were able to get out to a 7 goal lead heading into the final quarter. GMD fought back in the
final quarter and their GD was a real standout earning them player of the match. GMD were able to
bring the deficit down to 5 at the end of the game, Cheeseballers winning 17 to 12.

Slayers v One Shot Wonders

Both teams are coming into tonight from a win last week, One Shot Wonders got out to an early lead
in the first quarter before Slayers fought back in the second, however the momentum was with One
Shot Wonders who were able to extend their lead heading into the break to 7. The third quarter saw
One Shot Wonders have a great shooting quarter and they were able to extend out their lead to 14
heading into the final quarter. But Slayers weren’t finished, with the help of Mitchell who was
awarded player of the match they continued to score goals and stop One Shot Wonders from
extending out their lead any further. One Stop Wonders won the game 10 to 25. Now on a two week
winning streak.

TFAtheletes v Sunflowers

TFAthletes are coming into tonight off a win last week and Sunflowers from a challenging game, this
game should be a good match up for both teams. The first quarter saw Sunflowers ease into the
game quickly and notch out a 3 goal lead heading into the first change of ends. The second quarter
was like the first with Sunflowers extending out the lead by a goal at the half time break. TFAthletes
came out firing in the third and were able to close the gap back down to 3 goals. Chris from
TFAthletes and Iman from Sunflowers were awarded Player of the Match for their respective teams.
The last quarter was stellar from both teams with TFAthletes closing the gap and with a last-ditch
effort before the siren, both teams ended on a score of 12 for our first draw of the season.

Haysoms on Ket v Easy Breezy

Haysoms on Ket are coming into tonight’s game from a challenging week last week, but Easy Breezy
won’t be living up to their name. The first quarter saw Easy Breezy get out to an early 8 goal lead.
Haysoms on Ket fought back in the second and were able to keep them from extending that lead.
The third quarter saw the ball moving well in the midcourt for both teams, however Easy Breezy
with the assistance of some fill ins were able to convert a few more goals than their competitors.
The final quarter saw Haysoms on Ket outscore Easy Breezy, and lessen the gap, Easy Breezy scoring
their final goal from a penalty after the siren. Lachie for Haysoms on Ket and Grace for Easy Breezy
were awarded Player of the Match for their teams.

Naomi’s Team v Bibs Out for the Boys

Naomi’s Team forfeit, Taylor was awarded Player of the Match for Bibs Out for the Boys for their
match against Eastern Nets.

Droppin Balls v Harley’s Angels

Welcome back to the competition Droppin Balls hopefully you are well rested after the bye last
week, Harley’s Angels are coming into the game from a win last week. The first quarter saw Droppin
Balls get out to an early 4 goal lead at the change. The second quarter saw Harley’s Angels start to
move the ball easier, however Droppin Balls extended their lead by another goal. The break
favoured Droppin Balls who came out and quickly extended their lead again, Harley’s Angels never
quitting and continuing to push in this game. Danni for Droppin Balls and Daniel for Harley’s Angels
 
were awarded Player of the Match for their efforts. Droppin Balls securing their first win of the
season 25 to 14.

The Odd Bunch v Mish N Mash

Both teams are coming into tonight from a challenging week last week and will be eager to get their
first win of the season. The first quarter was even by both teams, movement of the ball back and
forth on the court, The Odd Bunch leading by a goal at the change of ends. The second quarter was
the same as the first with both teams moving the ball around well and The Odd Bunch holding onto
their 1 goal lead at the break. The third quarter saw Mish n Mash find their groove and they were
able to turn the lead around and get out to a 2 goal lead for the final quarter. Dylan for The Odd
Bunch and Chris for Mish n Mash were the standouts on court and were awarded Player of the
Match for their teams. Mish N Mash used the momentum of the third quarter and runaway with it in
the last, taking the game 7 to 16 for their first win at Eastern Indoor.
