The first quarter was a great challenge with both teams scoring 3 goals. The second quarter saw Eastern Nets come out strongly and quickly scoring 4 unanswered goals before Easy Breezy got back into the game, a 3 goal advantage to Eastern Nets at the break. Easy Breezy had a great third quarter and were able to narrow the gap to just a single goal at the final change. The last quarter saw a change up by Eastern to try and push for the win, it was a good move, and they were able to get away to an 8 goal win. Josh played amazing for Easy Breezy and was awarded player of the match.

Centrefold v Sunflowers

Welcome back to both teams, looking forward to what you can both achieve this season. The first quarter saw Centrefold come out fighting, missing their shooter they have recruited a fill in. Getting out to an early 6 goal lead at the first change. The second quarter saw Sunflowers shooters start to have an impact on the game, scoring 6 goals for the quarter. The third quarter Centrefold started to extend their lead out, it will be hard for sunflowers to come back from this. But it certainly didn’t stop them trying, pushing hard for the entire last quarter, Centrefold ultimately won the game 31 to 10. Jase was instrumental in defence for Centrefold earning him Player of the Match.

The first quarter was even with both teams scoring off their centre passes. The second quarter saw PMS stretch out a minor 3 goal lead heading into the break. Cheeseballers came out of the half time break, with a newfound energy, the defensive efforts of Kanysha from PMS were on show, and she was able to keep the goalers at bay for Cheeseballers. The third quarter was equal for both teams, PMS still holding on to their 3 goal lead. The final quarter saw PMS break away and they were able to take the win with a 9 goal lead.

TFATHLETES V THE ODD BUNCH

Welcome to the competition TFAthletes and welcome back to the Odd Bunch. It’s always good to see when a new team comes in and fits in so well, the first quarter saw TFAthletes get out of the gate well and their shooters were right on it, all that time warming up on court was worth it. The second quarter saw The Odd Bunch start to get their eye in and they were able to start scoring some goals. Unfortunately, an injury to the Odd Bunch centre at the end of the second quarter could spell trouble for them. But thankfully they rose to the challenge and were able to narrow the gap at three quarter time to just 3 goals. The defenders for the Odd Bunch did a great job in the last quarter and kept the newcomers to just 1 goal, just running out of time, The Odd Bunch went down to TFAthletes 11 to 13. Congratulations to TFAthletes securing their first win in their first game, watch out for this team!

GMD v Naomi’s Team

Welcome back to both teams for a new season, always great to see familiar faces return. The first half saw Naomi’s Team show that they don’t want to settle for just getting into the finals, they want the premiership this season, they came out shooting strong and defending well, quickly getting out to a 9 goal lead at the break. GMD had a stronger shooting quarter in the third, scoring 3 goals against the brick wall of Naomi’s Team defence. One of the strongest defensive circles in the competition, every goal is a challenge. The last quarter saw the best quarter for GMD, however it wasn’t quite enough and Naomi’s Team won 12 to 27. Dylan had a great game in mid court for Naomi’s Team and was awarded player of the match.
