These two teams have had a long-standing rivalry, with Goal Diggers consistently outperforming Mixed Bag on their previous meets. The first quarter played out like the past with Goal Diggers getting out to an early lead, a gap of 3 at the change. The second quarter began much the same, Goal Diggers quickly scoring 5 goals to Mixed Bags 1. With only a couple of minutes left in the quarter Mixed Bag got a second wind and started to dominate the game, very quickly scoring 4 additional goals keeping their chances alive in this match. The third quarter was a great one by both teams, minor errors seeing the ball travel up and down the court a few times, but Mixed Bag out shot Goal Diggers to get the score back within 1 goal. The last quarter saw lead changes and amazing intercepts and goals by both teams, with moments to go Mixed Bag took the lead and were able to defend it to the final siren, and successful in beating Goal Diggers for the first time. Simone Pu for Goal Diggers was awarded Player of the Match.

These two teams are both pushing for finals positions and always push hard in their games, so we expect to see the same in tonight’s game. The first quarter was pretty even between both teams, good movement up and down the court. Material Gorls had a great start and got out to an early lead towards the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw Material Gorls continue to push out their lead and went into the break with a 9 goal lead. Shots Fired regrouped in the break and came out to shoot 7 goals for the third quarter, however Material Gorls stretched out their lead to 11 heading into the final quarter. Sophie was instrumental for Material Gorls in this game, she was awarded player of the match to go along with their win against Shots Fired.
