Sockballers v Spaghetti n Netballs
Sockballers are coming into this game after a hard week last week, and Spaghetti n Netballs are in
for their first real taste of the competition on a Sunday Night. The first quarter saw Sockballers come
out firing and very quickly notch out a 10 goal lead by the half time break. Spaghetti n Netballs seem
to be missing some of the pizazz that they brought to the court in their first week, the third quarter
saw some great defensive efforts of Spaghetti n Netballs, but Sockballers kept pushing and extended
their lead to 12 going into the final quarter. Harrison was a stand out for Spaghetti n Netballs and did
everything he could in defence to limit the Sockballers goalers, earning himself Player of the Match,
but they were too strong tonight and won the game 32 to 16.
Underachievers v Phat Phlamingos
Predicted to be a close game and it didn’t disappoint, Underachievers had a hard game last week
and Phat Phlamingos had a good win, the first quarter was even with Phat Phlamingos just getting
the extra goal before the change of ends. The second quarter saw Underachievers bring back the
energy they are known for and overturned the lead going into the break. The third quarter saw
Underachievers stretch out to a 4 goal lead. The final quarter was hard fought by both teams, Phat
Phlamingos pushed until the very end, but Underachievers were too strong and won the game 19 to
15. Matt for Underachievers was awarded Player of the Match for his great contributions in tonight’s
game.
The Opposition v Pancake Pals
The Opposition are in for a challenge tonight against the reigning champions of Pancake Pals.
However, Pancake Pals are missing their key defender so this may be the chance to take it to them.
The Opposition with the aid of height in their defensive end did a great job of holding Pancake Pals
to just a single goal lead for the first quarter. The goaling team of Pancake Pals have always used
height to their advantage and are not used to having defenders contend for the ball under the ring,
The Opposition continued to keep Pancake Pals to the 1 goal lead at the half time break. By the third
quarter the shooters had changed their play to cope with the new competition and were, in their
standard fashion, break away to a 14 goal lead. The Opposition never stopped fighting for the ball
and continued to make Pancake Pal work for every goal. Laura was incredible for Pancake Pals in
their midcourt and was awarded Player of the Match. Pancake Pals continued a show of stretch in
the final quarter and won the game 14 to 36.
Twisted Knee v Hot Shots
Both teams had very narrow losses last week and will be eager to turn that around and secure their
first win of the season. The first quarter saw Hot Shots come out strong and quickly put Twisted
Knee through their paces. Twisted Knee’s goalers had a good first quarter, moving the ball well and
scoring 2 goals. The second quarter was a show of force by the newbies Hot Shots, extending out
their lead to 9 goals at the half time break. The third quarter saw Twisted Knee try and close the gap,
scoring 3 goals for the quarter, however Hot Shots seemed to be too strong tonight, ultimately
winning, the gap for their first win at Eastern Indoor, 7 to 21. Jake for Hot Shots was awarded Player
of the Match for his efforts.
Don’t Step v Brogres
Both teams are undefeated this season as they both secured their first win last week. The first
quarter saw Brogres back at full capacity and able to quickly notch out a 3 goal lead. Don’t Step
continued to apply pressure in the second quarter, keeping Brogres from extending their lead. The
second half saw some great shots by the Brogres shooters, and they were able to extend out their
lead to 8 goals heading into the final quarter. Brogres with the aid of Jake was able to push out to
the lead in the final quarter and win the game 14 to 25. Jake was also awarded Player of the Match
for his contribution.
Family Feud v Nets Be Friends
Family Feud off the back of a hard-fought win last week got to strengthen their skills against a strong
7 players. Sebastian had a great game tonight and was selected as Player of the Match for Family
Feud.
