sockballers v the opposition

Great season for both teams, Sockballers narrowly missing out on finals and The Opposition showing they belong in this comp since returning. This game is sure to be a good show. The Opposition came out strong in the first quarter outshooting Sockballers and catching their defenders off guard, they went into the first change with a 3 goal lead. Sockballers quickly stood up to the challenge set and were able to reverse the lead in the second quarter and go into the break with a 3 goal lead themselves. The break saw The Opposition make some changes to combat the momentum that Sockballers are known for. Jordan was a standout, ensuring The Opposition continued to push for the last half and was awarded player of the match. The second half saw Sockballers shooters gain confidence, and they were able to win the game with a 9 goal lead.

pancake pals v d huslerz

Semi Final #1 – Top of the ladder dominators, Pancake Pals versus 4th D Huslerz, these two teams met twice during the season, with one very close finish and the other a bit of a runaway by Pancake Pals, this is sure to be a great match up. The first quarter saw neither team score for almost the first 4 minutes, before Pancake Pals final got one through the ring. It was then momentum all the way of Pancake Pals, 3 unanswered goals before D Huslerz got their first in. It was a scrappy start and both teams had several turnovers. The change of ends saw a step up by the premier hopefuls of Pancake Pals, they defensively tried to shut down the game play of D Huslerz, it was a very strong quarter by both teams, Pancake with an 8 goal lead heading into the break. D Huslerz defence had a challenge up their sleeve not just with the height but also the speed that Pancake Pals shooters were displaying in the third quarter. The last quarter saw a change up of players to try and get back into the game. D Huslerz shot quickly but Pancake Pals were right there to score again, Jess had a fantastic game shooting for Pancake Pals and was awarded player of the match to go along with their win over D Huslerz, 27 to 10. On to the Grand Final next week for Pancake Pals and D Huslerz to playoff for third place.

phat phlamingos v bec macs

Semi Final #2 – 2nd finishes Phat Pholamingos versus 3rd and returning power houses in Bec Macs, these teams met twice during the season, both times Phat Phlamingos took the win, but if the scoreline of their last game is anything to go by this is gonna be close. The first quarter saw both teams with a bit of finals jitters, with turnovers and missed shots, the first goal secured by Phat Phlamingos in the 5th minute. But once they got that goal in, they were on, 4 unanswered goals for Phat Phlamingos in the first quarter, the defenders were very tight and held Bec Macs to no goals. The change of ends saw both teams make changes in their shooting teams. Both goal defenders had a good quarter in the second, a ripper intercept by the GD for Phat Phlamingos, but unfortunately couldn’t be converted. The GD for Bec Macs continued to go out hungry to pick loose balls off. The ball continued to go back and forth down the court, before 2 quick goals for Bec Macs, keeping the score difference to 4 at the break. Phat Phlamingos made another change in the goalers for the third quarter, Bec Macs opting to change up their mid court instead. It immediately had an impact with Bec Macs closing the gap, a goal just before the siren to level the scores going into the final quarter. Both teams made a change up in the defence circle, to try and halt any attempts to run away with it. There was lots of lead changes in the final quarter but with just over a minute to go the scores were level again. A number of turnovers, everyone was tense and eager to get the win, without overtime. A missed goal by Bec Macs saw the ball head down the shooting end for Phat Phlamingos and with 8 second left on the clock, they scored a goal and a position in the Grand Final next week. What a game!! A minor victory for Bec Macs with Georgia being awarded Player of the Match.

lethal weapons v peeners

What a start to the game, both teams came out strong and moved the ball around well, it was highly contested and just the 1 goal lead for Peeners heading into the second quarter. Lethal Weapons fought back strong and levelled the score in the second quarter with accurate shooting and strong defence. The break saw Peeners with fresh legs on court and they got out to 2 goal lead for the premiership quarter, the final quarter was the Peeners show! Gemma was a standout and was awarded player of the match for Peeners who ran away with the game for the final quarter with a 9 goal victory.

brogres v diesel dominators

Was a ripper start by Brogres in this week’s game against the youthful Diesel Dominators, quickly getting out to a 2 goal lead in the first quarter. Never a team to take it laying down, Diesel Dominators quickly rose to the challenge and were able to turn the lead around in the second quarter, getting out to a 9 goal lead at the break. Brogres hit back in the third with strong shooting and did all they could to combat the impressive skills that Diesel Dominators had on show in the goal circle. Brogres reduced the lead of Diesel Dominators down to 7 going into the final quarter, however with Frasers efforts for Diesel Dominators, earning Player of the match, they were able to ultimately win the game with a 12 goal lead.
