FAMILY FEUD V TWISTED KNEE
This was the first time these two teams have versed each other, and the game was set to be a good challenge, Twisted Knee had the break last week and Family Feud were coming in off a hard-fought loss the prior week. Both teams keen to get the 4 points this week. Twisted Knee got out to a good start in the first quarter, after the swap of ends at quarter time, Family Feud’s defensive end had a killer quarter and Family Feud got out to a 14 point lead heading into the 3rd quarter. It was a tough game for Twisted Knee but they continued to fight in the second half, the efforts of Charlotte did not go unnoticed as she spurred on her team the whole game, being award Player of the Match along side Cate from Family Feud, who scored the 4 points this week with a 36 to 5 win.
D HUSLERZ V THE OPPOSITION
D Huslerz have had a couple of hard weeks so will be looking to turn that around this week, but they are up against the inform team, The Opposition. First to score, D Huslerz took advantage of an interception and was able to get out to a 3 to 1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Yalini S was instrumental in the game, being awarded Player of the match and The Opposition equalled it out to 4 all, heading into the half time break. The “premiership quarter” saw D Huslerz increase their shooting accuracy and take the lead into the last quarter, 16 to 9. The Opposition defence was strong in the last quarter but unfortunately, it wasn’t The Oppositions night, D Huslerz won the game 20 to 12.
BEC MACS V SOCKBALLERS
Both teams are coming into this game on a winning streak, this is set to be the game of the night. The first quarter saw the teams going goal for goal. Both defensive ends were strong and kept each other to 3 goals each. The second quarter saw the returning team of Bec Macs show off their prior form and get out to a 13 to 11 lead going into the half time break. The third quarter saw both teams make great intercepts and score goals off them, Sockballers slightly closed the scoreline heading into the last quarter 1 goal down. The last quarter saw both teams put up a great challenge, with 40 seconds to go and Sockballers up by one, the possession changed and Bec Macs worked the ball down the court, a penalty in the goal circle with 8 seconds to go, Bec Macs kept their composure under pressure and tied the game. David from Bec Macs and Brooke from Sockballers were awarded Player of the Match by the umpires.
BROGRES V DIESEL DOMINATORS
Brogres had a hard game last week and are set to verse the inform Diesel Dominators. The first quarter saw both teams go goal for goal, with Diesel Dominators scoring off an intercept and go into the second quarter up by 1. The second quarter was a shootout by both teams with a collective of 18 goals being scored in the 9 minutes. Half time saw Brogres on 12 to 15. Diesel Domunators continued their form in the third quarter extending their lead to 6. The last quarter Brogres kept the pressure on and didn’t allow the Dominators to live up to the name, Jake from Brogres and Emma from Diesel Dominators were instrumental for both teams and were awarded Best on by the umpires. With the end result 25 to 31 in favour of Diesel Dominators, now on a 2-game streak.
LETHAL WEAPONS V HANGXIETY
Lethal Weapons and Hangxiety had a good start to the game with the first quarter score 2 to 3. Hangxiety fell into their groove in the second quarter and were able to up their shooting accuracy scoring 7 goals to Lethal weapons 2. The third quarter saw Dylan from Hangxiety catch the attention of the umpires and ultimately get awarded player of the match as they increased their lead to 11. The last quarter Lethal Weapons had their best scoring quarter and showed what we are getting used to seeing. Hangxiety took out the game for their 4th win of the season, 8 to 21.
PANCAKE PALS V PHAT PHLAMINGOS
These two rivals have always had great games against each other, this week’s top of the ladder clash would determine who would take the top spot. Pancake Pals took an early lead in the first quarter with strong shooting, heading into the second quarter 6 to 2. Phat Phlamingos missing several of their usual players and their signature pink, were not going down without a fight. The second quarter they closed the gap to 2. Phat Phlamingos shuffled some players around to try and continue outshooting Pancake Pals, unfortunately the height in the shooting circle proved a challenge for the defenders of the Phlamingos, Pancake Pals going into the final quarter up by 7. Pancake Pals Jess was on fire with her shooting throughout the game and the last quarter was no exception and she was awarded Player of the match to go along with the 30 to 22 score line.
