white line fever v cops & lobbers
Cops & Lobbers have had a challenging time since moving up to East division and tonight is set to be no exception. White Line Fever are yet to have a loss on the board, just the one draw to tarnish their person season so far. The came out strong in the first quarter, Cops & Lobbers goalers also having a great start to the game. The second quarter White Line Fever defence worked to lock down the attackers for Cops & Lobbers and work to extend their lead. The third quarter had both teams moving well, but the goals were flowing for White Line Fever. Katey had a great game for Cops & Lobbers and was named Player of the Match, a small consolation as White Line Fever won the game, 34 to 14.
blackbears v netscape navigators
Blackbears have had a challenging start to their comp, tonight is gonna be a challenge for them, with Netscape Navigators being moved down from the East Division, they are strong contenders. The first quarter saw Netscape Navigators defenders work very hard to keep Blackbears scoreless. The second quarter Blackbears kept pushing hard and their goalers were able to score, meanwhile Netscape Navigators continued to move the ball around well and extend their lead out. The third quarter was like the second, Blackbears still working the ball and just not quite converting as they would like. Steph & Kristie both had great games for Netscape Navigators and were selected as the Players of the Match by the umpires, adding to their win, 4 to 24 over the Blackbears.
pineapple on pizza v ballistic beavers
Ballistic Beavers started this game with energy and quickly got out to a large lead, dominating the ball down the court. Pineapple on Pizza were caught on the backfoot and started to get back into the game in the second quarter, it was an even quarter with both teams shooting well. Ballistic Beavers made a change up to positions for the third quarter and it was to the detriment with Pineapple on Pizza capitalising on every weak point, getting back within 2 goals for the final quarter. Pineapple on Pizza kept pushing hard for the last quarter, James P for Pineapple on Pizza and Mitch for Ballistic Beavers had great games and were selected as Player of the Match. Pineapple on Pizza came from a large deficit to take the game, 34 to 32.
nets top model v the newlyweds
It was a good start by both teams, Nets Top Model just out scoring The Newlyweds in the first quarter but continued to give the game their all. The second quarter was tough for The Newlyweds who were struggling to get the ball into their goal circle with the tough defence being shown by Nets Top Model. The Newlyweds changed it up at half time and it made a big difference, both teams scoring well and Nets Top Model not being able to extend their lead, however Alex and Celeste in defence for Nets Top Model adapted in the last quarter, again shutting down the goalers for The Newlyweds. Their defence efforts were so strong they were awarded Player of the Match jointly. Nets Top Model won the game, 28 to 15.
don't step v pink panthers
Our two newcomers to the comp are battling it out tonight, Pink Panthers are having a great season and Don’t Step are keen to give them a loss on the board. Pink Panthers got out to an early 3 goal lead at the end of the first quarter and set the challenge to Don’t Step. The second quarter was better for Don’t Step who eased into their positions and started working the ball around better, however Pink Panthers didn’t take the pressure off and extended their lead out to 5 goals at half time. The second half was stronger for Don’t Step, Curtis had a great game and was awarded Player of the Match, a small consolation as Pink Panthers ultimately won the game by 3 goals, the margin they built for themselves in the first quarter, 15 to 18.
vicious & Delicious v monny money squared
Set to be the game of the night, these two teams are so
evenly matched it is going to be a very closely contested game. It was goal for
goal in the first quarter, Vicious and Delicious just edging out in front,
thanks to a great intercept. Monny Money Squared pushed hard in the second to
overcome the lead and tie the game up heading into the half time break. It was
another strong quarter for both teams, with both sets of goalers doing a great
job against the strong defensive efforts and the scores remaining tied. The
final quarter was edge of your seat, thrilling. Both teams fighting hard to get
the win, Monny Money Squared just getting ahead of Vicious & Delicious at
the end of the game to win, 27 to 25. Bonnie taking home Player of the Match
