nets top model v don't step
Welcome to the competition our newest team Don’t Step, a challenging week to start you off against Nets Top Model. The first quarter saw both teams getting a feel for each other. Nets Top Model were quick to make the most of a team who is not familiar with their style of play. Getting out to a strong lead at half time. Don’t Step started to find their groove as the game went on and they started to score goals easily towards the end of the game, if they keep this momentum up in next weeks game, we should see strong things from this team. But tonight, was Nets Top Model’s night as they won the game 28 to 10.
netscape navigators v the newlyweds
Both teams have had a challenging start to the season and will be looking for their first win tonight. It was goal for goal in the first quarter, both teams moving well on the court, a single intercept allowing The Newlyweds to get a 2 goal lead heading into the second quarter. Netscape Navigators kept fighting and were able to stop The Newlyweds from increasing their lead for the second quarter. The Newlyweds came out firing in the third quarter and were able to increase their lead to 6 goals for the final quarter. Again, Netscape Navigators stepped up and halted The Newlyweds plans of running away with it. The Newlyweds ultimately won, 17 to 23, for their first win of the season. Kristy had a stellar game for Netscape Navigators and was named Player of the Match.
ballistic beavers v white line fever
Both teams are coming into tonight’s game off the back of a win last week. The first quarter had Ballistic Beavers moving very well against their strong opposition. White Line Fever had their usual fast paced game on show. Quickly scoring goals to build a lead. The second quarter both teams had minor mistakes and the ball was travelling up and down the court a lot, the third quarter had both teams settle into the game more, White Line Fever continued to shoot accurately and the defence for Ballistic Beavers were doing all the could to stop them getting the ball. The final quarter was fairly even for both teams, White Line Fever won the game, 9 to 26 to secure their third win in a row. Mitch had a ripper game for Ballistic Beavers and was named Player of the Match.
monny money squared v vicious & delicious
Both teams are undefeated for the season so far and that will end for one tonight. It was goal for goal in the first quarter, Monny Money increased their effort in the second quarter with assistance of their fill ins. This game had players from both teams putting their bodies on the line, Monny Money defence did a great job at keeping Vicious & Delicious to just 2 goals for the quarter, allowing them to get out to a 5 goal lead at half time. The third quarter had Vicious & Delicious moving the ball around well again, however Monny Money were able to increase their lead out to 7 for the final quarter. It was a very low score rate in the final quarter, a testament to the defence of both teams. Monny Money Squared won the game, 19 to 10. Lachie did everything he could to shut down the goalers of Monny Money and his efforts didn’t go unnoticed, he was named Player of the Match for Vicious & Delicious.
pink panthers v cops & lobbers
Expected to be the game of the night, it was a thriller from the beginning to the end. The audience could have been mistaken to think this was a grand final. Pink Panthers are new to the comp and had a challenging week for the first week, Cops & Lobbers are on the back of a win last week and both will be eager to get the points tonight. The first quarter was goal for goal for both teams, nothing separating them. This continued for the second quarter, Pink Panthers just getting in front by a goal at half time. The third quarter had both teams scoring 3 goals each, these teams had great match ups throughout the court. The final quarter saw a last-ditch effort by Cops & Lobbers and it paid off for them, winning the game by 1 goal, 15 to 16. Pat players a fantastic game for Pink Panthers and was named Player of the Match.
peach cups v pineapple on pizza
Both teams had challenging games last week, Peach Cups came
out firing from the get go, quickly building a lead and showing their
competitors at Eastern Indoor that they are here to challenge everyone. Pineapple
on Pizza continued to play hard and move the ball around well, however Peach
Cups made the most of every rebound and intercept to extend their lead. At half
time they were out by 17 goals. Pineapple on Pizza regrouped and owned the
third quarter, outscoring Peach Cups and reducing the lead. Peach Cups with the
help of Daniel who was named Player of the Match ultimately won the game, 33 to
16.
