hannah and the bananas v pineapple on pizza
Welcome back to both teams for another season. Hannah and the Bananas got out to a strong start in tonight’s game and were quickly able to get out to a 7 goal lead heading into the second quarter. Pineapple on Pizza were missing a few of their regular line up and took the first quarter to start to gel as a team, but then got underway in the second quarter and were able to go goal for goal with Hannah and the Bananas in the second. The third quarter had Pineapple on Pizza continue their momentum, but Hannah and the Bananas stepped it up a notch to extend their lead. Pineapple on Pizza fought back in the final quarter to reduce the lead, but time was not on their side, Hannah and the Bananas got their first win of the season, 20 to 13.
ballistic beavers v peach cups
Welcome back for another season to Ballistic Beavers and welcome to Eastern Indoor to Peach Cups, great to have you on board for our Autumn comp. First quarter had Peach Cups coming out with new team energy, quickly building a small lead. The second quarter was even with both teams scoring 4 goals, Ballistic Beavers moving the ball around well on the court, they were able to get back within 1 goal of the newcomers at the end of the third quarter, but Peach Cups kept up and were able to secure their first win in their first game, 18 to 24.
cops & lobbers v white line fever
Welcome back to Cops & Lobbers and welcome back to our retuning premiers White Line Fever. The first quarter saw both teams moving the ball well, with a few turnovers by both, first game jitters maybe. The second quarter saw White Line Fever shooters get their eye in and start to build a lead. Cops & Lobbers kept fighting back in the third, but they were up against a force with Rylee shooting very accurately for White Line Fever. White Line Fever ended up winning their first game to start a streak for this season, 13 to 39.
nets top model v netscape navigators
Welcome back for another season to both teams. Nets Top Model are keen to up their ladder result from last season and came out firing, defensive efforts were high. Netscape Navigators had a better second quarter and got themselves on the board. It’s always lovely to see the energy and sportsmanship that Netscape Navigators bring to every game. Nets Top Model continued to push hard for the remainder of the game and won their first for the season, 35 to 6.
the newlyweds v vicious & delicious
Welcome back to the comp Vicious & Delicious and welcome back to Bridesmaids who have returned after their premiership victory last season and have aptly renamed to The Newlyweds. Both teams are missing some players this week and have had to call in some fill ins. The first quarter was strong by The Newlyweds, straight away getting to work on building a lead. The second quarter saw Vicious & Delicious continue to play their strong steady game, unimpacted by The Newlyweds attempts to run away with it. The tactic worked to their advantage as they slowly clawed their way back to within a goal with 4 minutes left in the game. Injury to a player for The Newlyweds giving Vicious & Delicious extra hope that this game could be theirs. With the ball going back and forth, Vicious and Delicious were able to level the scores with less than 2 minutes of playing time remaining. Level scores, 12 seconds on the clock, one last centre pass and Vicious & Delicious have 2 quick attempts at goal, and they win their first game, 17 to 18.
