WHITE LINE FEVER V GOAL DIGGERS
What a match! Goal Diggers came in with a fire in their belly and did not let it go out. The top of the ladder White Line Fever found themselves having to chase for a lot of the game, a position they are not accustomed to and with a penalty goal right before the siren could only level the scores for a draw, 22 all. Simone from Goal Diggers impressed the umpires to receive the accolade of player of the match. Goal Diggers are proving even with some of their team out, they can take it to their competitors.
Vicious & Delicious v nets top model
This was set to be the game of the night and it did not disappoint. Both teams came out hungry for the win, with equal stats heading in. Nets Top Model were keen to prove themselves after the loss last week and unfortunately Vicious & Delicious had to recruit a fill in on the night and couldn’t quite close the deal without their normal team, going down 15 to 19. The umpires were thoroughly impressed with Erin L’s consistent shooting, awarding her the best on for the game.
bright ballers v hannah and the bananas
Bright Ballers came in well rested from their bye last week and proved they are keen to climb the ladder. Hannah and the Bananas are continuing to find their grove as a team, and it won’t be long before the points will start rolling in for them. They proved their defence is strong, keeping Bright Ballers to their 2 nd lowest score of the season, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough with Bright Ballers taking out the game 12 to 4. Tom was a star for Bright Ballers and won player of the match from the umpires.
cops and lobbers v the bridesmaids
Cops and Lobbers struggled a bit in this game with a lack of height compared to the tall bookends of The Bridesmaids. Slowly adapting to the loss of their defender, Cops & Lobbers are always consistent in the mid court. The Bridesmaids showcased the flexibility of their players and was able to lock in the 4 points and increasing their winning streak to 4 games with a 22 to 10 win. Adam B from Bridesmaids had one of his best games and for the second week in a row was awarded player of the match by the umpires.
pineapple on pizza v sunflowers
Both teams came into the game on a winning streak, but only one could continue. The game was hard fought by both teams, Sunflowers got out to a healthy lead but Pineapple on Pizza proving they are strong finals contenders, did not go down without a fight. Clawing their way back, but time was not on their side, Sunflowers ultimately winning by 1, 23 to 22. The umpires award Hassan the Player of the match for his great work all game.
ballistic beavers v netscape navigators
This was the first time these two new teams were facing each other, and it was a great challenge for both teams. Netscape Navigators had everything going their way tonight and Steph caught the eye of the umpires for her personal effort, adjudged best on. Ballistic Beavers as always played well but couldn’t quite hold off the eagerness of Netscape navigators who secured their first win, 22 to 12.
smokin joes v the incisors
Smokin Joes came out firing fresh off their spell to register a solid 9-3 win over The Incisors. The side had a mixed start to their season, but are now starting to hit their true form with back-to-back wins. The Incisors got off to a fast start in their recent introduction to the comp but have endured some tough recent weeks. They’ll be hoping to find some winning form in their next few matchups. Chris was named player of the game for a standout outing.
southeast warriors v bayswater strikers
Southeast Warriors have been finding the back of the net with ease in recent weeks but faced a formidable opposition in Bayswater Strikers on this occasion, who have started to rediscover the form they exhibited at the start of the campaign. A 9-4 in favour of the latter boosted the side’s chances of re-joining the top four soon. Eman was awarded MOTM honours for his superb performance.
the unknowns v fifa '98
The Unknowns showcased their typical best to get past Fifa ’98 with a 9-2 victory. The latter have proven they can push the top tier teams on their night, but the second-placed Unknowns were unrelenting in both attack and defence to notch the impressive result. The Unknowns have only dropped one game this season, alongside two draws, so are primed and ready to make a deep finals run again if current form continues. Deni was named player of the game by the referee for a skillful outing.
the originals v bol boys
The Originals have been in impressive form, winning four of their past five games, but faced one of the in-form teams of the comp in Bol Boys this week, which was always going to prove a tough challenge. It was the latter who continued their strong patch to register a 7-2 win and jump to 3rd on the table. The side have hit their straps and look set to make a finals run, with Matt deemed player of the game by the referee for a strong showing.
mandem city v infection fc
Mandem City have been enjoying some of their best form of the season, going unbeaten in their past five games and pouring on the goals in recent weeks. It was no different this week, with another 10-goal showing, helping them overcome Infection by five goals. Infection started the season off with a bang and will be looking to recapture that form in the next few weeks with a good run ahead. Alex was adjudged best on court for his stellar display.
rat pack v desperate housewives
Fresh off their agonisingly close loss last week, Rat Pack bounced back in relentless fashion, recording a 15-5 win over Desperate Housewives, who have been involved in plenty of high-scoring contests this season themselves. The win propels Rat Pack back into the top four and they’ll be hoping their strong goalscoring form continues next week when they face the ladder leaders. Roger was awarded MOTM honours for his stirring outing.

Newcomers AC Coob made it back-to-back wins with a thrilling 3-2 result against The Big Bund. An intense and close contest kept spectators engaged throughout the entire match in one of the games of the week, with the solitary goal splitting the teams resulting in the narrowest margin of the evening. Liam was awarded MOTM from the referee for his important showing.
