Monday Match Reports Round 2

nets top model v cops & lobbers

Nets Top Model continued to show their ever-growing potential with an impressive 30-23 victory over Cops & Lobbers. Both sides have shown their ability to match it with the top tier and had no troubles finding the net in a high-scoring affair. James M from Nets Top Model stood out with an exceptional performance, earning him the title of player of the game.

Red Dolphins asserted their dominance and showcased their goalscoring potency, emerging victorious with a solid 28-19 win over Pineapple on Pizza. The Dolphins showed glimpses of their best last season and will hope this momentum in both attack and defence will carry on in the next few weeks. Pineapple on Pizza had no issues finding the goals too with a more than respectable tally of 19. Sarah C’s outstanding contributions on the court for Red Dolphins caught the attention of the umpires, leading to her selection as the player of the game.

 

hannah and the bananas v bright ballers

Bright Ballers bounced back from last week to earn a thrilling 12-6 victory against new outfit Hannah and the Bananas. Both sides are still finding their feet in the competition and delivered an intense affair. Excited to see what’s to come from both new sides. Andy C earned player of the game honours from the umpires after a standout performance.

 

 

GOAL DIGGERS V SUNFLOWERS

Goal Diggers capitalised on their debut last week with a fine 21-14 win over
Sunflowers. The new mixed team started the game off with a bang thanks to some
strong passing and shooting and never looked back. Bailey W from Goal Diggers
delivered an impressive performance, earning recognition as the player of the game.
Sunflowers did well to bridge the early gap and make a comeback.

the bridesmaids v vicious and delicious

The Bridesmaids displayed their usual potency with a resounding 32-13 win over the impressive Vicious and Delicious. They had no trouble finding the goals and were also rock-solid in defence. Past finalists Vicious will be looking to bounce back in style in their next outing. Michelle P’s exceptional performance throughout the match for The Bridesmaids earned her the recognition as the player of the game.

 

the unknowns v eastern fut

The Unknowns were relentless on Monday evening, kicking off their season with a massive victory over Eastern Fut. The title fancies put 22 goals through in an unrelenting showing.  Eastern Fut were down on a few regulars and will hope to respond next week. Alexander G was named player of the game by the referee.

 

the originals v belgrave boys

The Originals built on their impressive draw last week with Leshter, securing a 7-2 win this time against Belgrave Boys. They had no problem finding the net and were rock-solid in defence as well. Daniel from The Originals stood out on the court and was recognised as the player of the game for his contributions. Belgrave Boys will be better off for the tougher challenge and will be looking to take this experience into next week’s game.

bayswater strikers v cosa nostra

Bayswater Strikers continue to find their feet in the new comp and made some serious strides again this week, emerging victorious with an impressive 8-4 win over Cosa Nostra. Girard’s outstanding display for Bayswater Strikers earned him the player of the game title for his performance. Cosa Nostra have had no trouble mixing it with the best teams in the division and did well to produce four goals of their own.

 

southeast warriors v managed anger

Southeast Warriors were on the wrong end of a thrilling match last week, but put that behind them to prevail with an impressive 7-4 win against Managed Anger. The ever-growing unit had no trouble finding the back of the net again with seven goals. Ronald’s exceptional performance for Southeast Warriors earned him the player of the game accolade.

 

leshter city v mandem city

Leshter City bounced back from their draw last week with a resounding 13-2 victory over Mandem City. Their exceptional passing, footwork and shooting were all on display, as was their stingy defence to produce the mammoth scoreline. Feroz F was named player of the game by the referee. Mandem will be looking to take the experience of a tough outing into next week’s game.

 

rat pack v fifa '98

One of last season’s grand finalists, Rat Pack, delivered an impressive performance, overpowering FIFA 98 with a commanding 9-3 victory. Their relentless attack and solid defensive display proved too much to handle as they bounced back from last week in style. Fifa 98 are no easy beats and will be looking to get back to form next week. Fernanda S was awarded player of the game by the referee.

 

the pele theater v infection

Deemed the potential match of the week by some spectators, Infection emerged victorious in an exhilaration 9-7 result over The Pele Theater. An absolute goal-fest from two high-scoring sides who took it right down to the wire in a close affair. Anthony B earned a consolation for The Pele Theater, earning player of the game honours.

 

cuzzo fc v bol boys

Two of the heavyweights of the competition collided as BoL Boys and Cuzzo FC went head-to-head in a stirring battle. It was BoL Boys who were simply too strong on this occasion with a comprehensive 10-3 victory. Their exceptional teamwork and clinical finishing got the job done this time, but we expect to see both sides make a run this season as usual. Hayden S was deemed player of the game by the officials.
