Vicious & Delicious v Reds
Tipped to be the game of the night, both teams are currently undefeated having secured their first
wins in round 1 last week. The first quarter saw Reds get out to an early lead of 2 goals. The second
quarter Vicious & Delicious fought back and were able to level the scores going into the half time
break. It seemed that the pairing of 2 female players in the defence for Vicious & Delicious was
working against them as Reds were finding easy paths into their taller shooters. This enabled Reds to
get out a 6 goal lead heading into the final quarter. A change of positions for Vicious was a great
move and they quickly started their attack on the goal gap. With less that 2 minutes to go scores
were back to level, Vicious & Delicious with only moments to spare were able to take the lead and
win the game by a single goal. Vicious & Delicious now on a 2 game winning streak. Patrick was a
stand out for Reds and was selected as Player of the Match.
Nets Top Model v Netscape Navigators
Netscape Navigators are coming into tonight’s game after a challenging week last week, keen to turn
it around and Nets Top Model will be eager to see their winning streak continue. The first quarter
saw Nets Top Model come out firing, quickly getting out to a 4 goal lead. The second quarter saw the
shooters for Netscape Navigators push hard to turn the score line around. However, Nets Top Model
continued to push to extend their lead out to 6 heading into the half time break. The third quarter
saw both teams move the ball around well and Netscape Navigators did a good job of keeping Nets
Top Model to a 7 goal lead. The final quarter saw Nets Top Model with the assistance of Cody who
was awarded Player of the Match, ultimately win the game 24 to 11. Nets Top Model are now on a 2
game winning streak.
Ballistic Beavers v Hannah and the Bananas
Both teams are looking to better their results of last week and secure their first wins. The first
quarter saw Hannah and the Bananas come out strong, Ballistic Beavers are missing some key
players and it seems to be taking a toll on their movement of the ball down the court as they get
used to their fill ins. The second quarter saw Hannah and the Bananas etch out a 7 goal lead heading
into the break. The third quarter saw the fill ins for Ballistic Beavers start to work together with the
existing team more smoothly, however Hannah and the Bananas continued to push and all players
on court played together so well, so everyone was awarded player of the match, they stretched out
their lead to 10 goals. The final quarter saw the score line ebb and flow but Hannah successful held
off Ballistic Beavers to secure their first win of the season with a 12 to 22 win.
Bridesmaids v Monny Money Squared
Bridesmaids will be keen to continue their winning streak from last week, however they are up for a
challenge as Monny Money are fresh from the Bye last week and will be eager to defend their
premiership win from last season. The first quarter was goal for goal with both teams playing well,
until the halfway mark when Monny Money stepped it up defensively and shut down the attacking
end for Bridesmaids. The second quarter saw Monny Money start to etch out a strong lead and with
a controversial goal at the end of the quarter they went into the break with a 9 goal lead. The third
quarter saw Bridesmaids continue to push hard and not be afraid to move the ball around, always
great team spirit by this long-standing team. The last quarter saw Bridesmaids score a further 4 goals
and continue to play with great sportsmanship. Monny Money ultimately won the game, Michelle
and Harrison for Bridesmaids and Abbey for Monny Money were awarded players of the match for
their respective teams.
White Line Fever v Pineapple on Pizza
Welcome back for a new season White Line Fever after your bye last week, with Pineapple on Pizza
having a challenging week last week, both teams will be hoping to get their first win on the board for
the season. The first quarter saw White Line Fever show how they made it to the grand final last
season, quickly getting out to a 7 goal lead. Pineapple on Pizza continued to fight for every ball in the
second quarter, but White Line was a strong force and stretched their lead out to 10 heading into
the break. The third quarter saw a change up of positions for the runners up and Pineapple on Pizza
were able to get the ball moving through the mid court, both teams had a good quarter and White
Line Fever went into the final change with an 8 goal lead, Pineapple doing well to eat away at the
gap. The final quarter saw both teams play well, James was exceptional for Pineapple on Pizza and
was awarded Player of the Match. White Line Fever ultimately won the game 19 to 10.
Cops & Lobbers v Sunflowers
Cops & Lobbers had a solid win last week and will be keen to continue that streak tonight,
Sunflowers came out with a good start in the first quarter, before Cops & Lobbers were able to get
an intercept and forge a small lead at the first change. The second quarter saw the defenders for
Cops & Lobbers tighten up on the Sunflowers shooters and enable them to extend out their lead to
10 goals at the break. Grace was fantastic in goals for Cops & Lobbers and was awarded player of the
match for her efforts. The second half saw Sunflowers continue to push in the game, Steph never
stopped and was awarded Player of the match for her efforts, however Cops & Lobbers were too
strong on this occasion and they won the game 34 to 18.
