Nets Top Model have had some challenging weeks and that may continue tonight against the Top of the Ladder White Line Fever. Both teams came out strong in the first quarter going goal for goal the entire 9 minutes, the second quarter saw White Line Fever settle into the challenge quickly and their goals step up quickly getting them out to a healthy 7 goal lead at the break. The third quarter Nets Top Model hit back and their goalers did well to score 5 goals against a very strong defensive duo. Tash stood out on the court and was named player of the match for White Line Fever, who were able to hold off a last-ditch effort from Nets Top Model in the final quarter and win the game by 12 goals.

This game has the potential to be a grand final preview with both teams looking good for the final’s series. The first quarter was goal for goal by both teams, Monny Money able to get a goal ahead as they went into the change. The second quarter saw the defenders for Monny Money step up against the shooting circle put forward by the Bridesmaids, Tiana stood out in this quarter and for the remainder of the game to be named Player of the match for Monny Money. The third quarter saw both teams moving well and shooting consistently, it wasn’t until the final quarter that Bridesmaids were able to start eating into the lead that Monny Money had, but time was not on their side and Monny Money were able to defend their lead until the siren, winning by just 3 goals. What will we see in the finals?
pineapple on pizza v hannah and the bananas
Pineapple on Pizza had a great start to the season but have been having a hard slog the last couple of weeks, Hannah and the Bananas have had a taste for a win now and after a challenging week last week will be looking to secure their second. The first quarter was very evenly matched, both teams came out strong and moved the ball around well. Hannah and the Bananas able to capitalise on a rare rebound from Pineapple on Pizza got out to a 1 goal lead at the change. The second quarter did not see any changes to the difference in scores with both teams competing hard in this game. The break favoured Hannah and the Bananas and they were able to grow their lead in the third quarter out to 2 goals. James had a great game for Pineapple on Pizza and was awarded player of the match. The final quarter was a nailbiter for anyone on and off the court as Hannah and the Bananas just held off the advances of Pineapple on Pizza and secured their second win by a single goal.
ballistic beavers v red dolphins
Red Dolphins had a great first quarter, moving the ball down to their goals quickly and with strong shooting they were out to a 6 goal lead at the first change. Ballistic Beavers played together as a team really well in the second quarter and it was great to see them move the ball around the court so well. The third quarter saw the defensive efforts of Ballistic Beavers really step up, holding Red Dolphins to just 3 goals for the quarter, Sarah played a great game for Red Dolphins and was selected Player of the Match. Red Dolphins have been tough competition all season and was no different tonight as they took the win over Ballistic Beavers.
sunflowers v netscape navigators
Sunflowers have been keen to keep their finals chances alive and will need to win against Netscape Navigators tonight to see that happen, Netscape put up a great challenge in the first quarter, both teams going goal for goal for the full 9 minutes. The second quarter saw Sunflowers step it up and start to build a bit of a lead. The break worked for Netscape who regrouped and came out strong, closing the gap to just 3 goals. The last quarter unfortunately saw them start to run out of steam as Sunflowers brought it home with an 8 goal margin. Olivia had a great game for Netscape Navigators and was awarded player of the match.
cops & lobbers v vicious & delicious
Both of these teams have struggled a little this season with
consistency in their players for various reasons and tonight was no exception,
with fill ins in both teams, it was sure to be a great game. Vicious &
Delicious was a bit of a family affair on the court and it worked well for them
getting out to a goal lead in the first quarter, Cops & Lobbers were hot on
their heels though, ensuring the gap didn’t build in the second quarter. Both
teams showed exceptional sportsmanship and it was great to see. The third
quarter saw Cops & Lobbers level the scores again, it would come down to
the final 9 minutes. There were lead changes throughout the quarter, but Cops
& Lobbers ultimately won this well contested game by just 2 goals. Well
done to both teams, what a game!!
